I think Marcus is looking too much into those metaphors, ahah. Marcus, I understand you are super patriotic about Australian football but you have to Chris' point. It still is rather primitive, but evolution is a slow process, so soon it should grow into a developed league. The same goes for the MLS, but they have already reached football "puberty", lol.

Christo, keep up the good work, you have plenty of readers who agree with you, maybe not your supported club -- cough cough fourth place cough cough :P

LOL
Sorry Chris i wrote that with a head of steam. Regret makng it personal. It really does make my blood boil when i read some of your articles on an international site that makes the A-League look like rubbish.
"Australian football has exposed itself as naive and primitive after another week on the Asian club scene, writes Goal.com's Chris Paraskevas." Naive and primitive. im am disgruntled that you judge a whole nations credibility on 2 clubs who are lets face it are in big trouble.
also i mean you did one on 'The A-League's reality check' when Newcastle lost there 1st ACL match before CCM even played a match. Anyone who follows the A-League knew that Newcastle wouldn't be flash as they finished bottom of the league this season ( should be Adel and Melb playing in the ACL because they qualifiyed this season). The league needs people on board not ridiculing it, it seems like your trying to portray Australian football as a joke by doing things like comparing it to apes and saying it needs a reality check after the bottom team gets beaten in there 1st match.
anyway thats my opinion, you have yours and sorry for having a dig like that at you

*Considers deleting post but acknowledges that everyone is entitled to their opinion*

Ignoring the personal insults Marcus and the fact that I am in fact born, bred, raised and living in Sydney (not London) and the fact that I have never once attempted to "glorify" AEK but instead spent most of my energy ridiculing them for what they are worth, you make some points in your rant that are approaching sane.

I have also acknowledged in the past that the A-League is still young and wasn't necessarily attacking the league itself in that article as much as the people responsible for moving it forward.

Yes, the league is young. Yes, it is improving. But the reactions of those two owners is most disturbing and highlights the sort of attitude that will only see it regress as the large cracks are papered over.

And its good to see you on the AEK blog! Sincerely hope to see you here again :)

PS. Head has now surgically been removed from my arse, at your request.

Cheers,
Chris

Hey mate what the hell is your problem? Why do you treat Australian football like shit? Where do you get off writing stuff like this?
http://goal.com/en/news/808/australia/2009/4/10/1201505/comment-australia-going-ape-in-asia
You don't even live in Australia but you sit back in London and insult a league which has been going for 4 fucking seasons, mean while you sit back and try and glorify AEK. Do you think could defeat a Japanese team,Gamba would rip them apart? Yes supporters of the Australian game understand we have a long way to go but don't you sit back and write negative shit about a whole country on the form of two teams who one didnt make the finales the other finished last.
Your just jealous that Greece wont make the World Cup and Australia are on the verge, pull your head out of your ass you wanker!
