After announcing the exciting acquisition of striker Rafik Djebbour and then proceeding to deservedly beat PAO in an oh-so-sweet-but-ever-so-crucial derby clash, AEK yesterday announced officially the season-long loan signing of Lanus midfielder Agustin Pelletieri, with an option to make the 25 year-old’s move a permanent one at the end of the campaign.
What a week it has been for our beloved Dikefale!
A few comments from the player after he signed: “I wanted to play in Europe and when I learnt that there was an offer from a club in Greece, I didn’t think twice about it.
“This is one of the biggest clubs in the country and the league is quite competitive. Before I learnt about the offer from the club, I already knew that Ismael Blanco was playing for them. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to get to know all of my new team-mates and coach, who will facilitate my adapting after my move from Argentina.
“I am extremely pleased to have seen the team win yesterday. The match was good but the fans were also impressive. From what I understand, we want to become champions.”
Meanwhile, great news for 20 year-old Vassilios Pliatsikas, who has just earned a shock call-up to the Greece national team for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Luxembourg and Latvia. The youth international procuced an imperious midfield display during the derby match on Sunday and Otto Rehhagel has chosen him as a replacement for injured striker Ioannis Amanatidis.
All of a sudden, a protathlima seems a realistic possibility…
PS. Here’s the standard Youtube junk that was thrown up when I typed “Agustin Pelletieri” into the search bar. Decent goal, I have to admit:
Pame!!!
