Let’s All Try To Keep Our Heads…

By: Chris Paraskevas | February 1st, 2009

OK everyone, let’s all try to remain calm.

I’m back from my regrettable “vacation”, that much is certain – but so much is not.

In the time Ive been away, AEK have managed to fail to sell themselves, gone through their second president of the season and head-butted each other ahead of the most important clash of the season.

Apparently we’ve produced the occasional decent performance though, including a 3-0 victory over Panionios that was apparently our best of the season.

However, the apparent indifference of oil tycoon, shipping tycoon and perpetual saviour Dimitris Melissanidis to our cause will make for a rather strained remaining few months, as the club apparently tackles incessant debts and financial ineptitude.

Can I say that I’m surprised to have left for barely two weeks to have returned to find a club virtually in smoldering ruins?

Not in the slightest – it is AEK, after all.

All that’s left now is to keep our heads (to ourselves) ahead of what could be a season-defining clash at the OAKA Spiros Louis Stadium – if only the rest of the squad were capable of doing the same…

It’s great to be back! *sigh*
