It’s all about the football…right?
By: Chris Paraskevas | February 7th, 2009It is perhaps within one of the club’s darkest eras that we can actually begin to look forward to matches with something approaching a sense of anticipation.
Because it’s all about the football…right?
Sure, we might be in debt, without a proper president and without a chance of winning the title this season but the sight of seeing eleven players who seem to actually care about the club take to the field on a weekly basis provides a shining ray of light in the otherwise dark, harsh realities of the world of modern football and mismanagement.
Credit must go to Dusan Bajevic’s, whose own future and that of technical director Stelios Manolas appears to be as unclear as that of anyone else at the club, for fashioning a side who have actually played some decent football as the weeks have progressed.
He might be deprived of the services of Rafik Djebbour – who to my knowledge has been struck down with some sort of illness – whilst Juanfran *snicker snicker* is also out…cue scenes of jubilation en masse…
In our way will be Giannakopoulos and co. as we try to keep alive our chances of a second-place finish and a crack at UEFA Champions League football for next season (though we all know how that ended up last time out…)
PS. I almost forgot my farewell tribute to Angelos Basinas…well…he was only worth an inserted picture in the top right-hand corner of the screen anyway…
