Burn(s) After Reading
By: Chris Paraskevas | November 14th, 2008OK, a quick note on the heading: it’s basically a take on the new Cohen brothers film “Burn After Reading” which I was forced into watching with a girl from university and which turned out to be absolutely brilliant.
The relation to this oh-so-infallible and ever-so-entertaining blog? It turns out that, after “reading” 
(*wink wink*) the officially released AEK Athens squad list for Saturday’s match against Panserraikos, that Australian Nathan Burns has been included (cue wild celebrations amongst the more Australian-inclined followers of this football cyberspace).
The former Adelaide United man is yet to make his competitive debut this season and following the Kitrinomavri’s laboured mid-week Greek Cup win over Ilysiakos (where the likes of fellow youngsters Zorbas et.al failed to grasp a rare opportunity) one wonders whether this might be the week where the Australian gets his chance – at least, off the bench.
He certainly can’t do any worse than some of the players currently occupying first-team places…
