A quick word before I scoot off…
By: Chris Paraskevas | February 28th, 2009…because chances are over the coming days I won’t find any of you people important enough to dedicate my precious * scoff * time too.
A slightly youthful looking AEK Athens outfit managed a 2-1 win over Skoda Xanthi on Saturday evening, though in slightly hilarious circumstances given the conspicuousness of Ismael Blanco’s offside goal (hilarious given the never-ending attention surrounding Olympiakos and their apparent influence over officials).
The fact remains that such imbalance is endemic within all of the Athenian sides and that the guilt is shared across various quarters of the game, though that isn’t the point of this ever-enlightening blog.
For all of you Australian readers out there, Nathan Burns got his first taste of Greek football after coming off the bench during the second-half and producing an apparently impressive debut, almost setting up a goal with a show of his trademark pace.
Patience clearly pays off.
