A quick word before I scoot off…

By: Chris Paraskevas | Comments No Comments

…because chances are over the coming days I won’t find any of you people important enough to dedicate my precious * scoff * time too.
A slightly youthful looking AEK Athens outfit managed a 2-1 win over Skoda Xanthi on Saturday evening, though in slightly hilarious circumstances given the conspicuousness of Ismael Blanco’s offside goal (hilarious [...]

The Swede!!!

By: Chris Paraskevas | Comments 1 Comment

So he’s not the character that squared up to Clint Eastwood during one of the most memorable scenes in Heartbreak Ridge but to compare him to that particular Swede would be an injustice.
He’s the big dude in this video:

For this one is considerably more beast-like despite his occasional clumsiness – the fact is, Daniel Majstorovic [...]

Hooray For The Birthday Boy…(And Un Update On Burns)

By: Chris Paraskevas | Comments No Comments

Join me as I indulge in one of life’s cake-sharing rituals to celebrate the 18th birthday of Panagiotis Tachtsidis.
Never one to get particularly excited about the fact that the Earth has revolved around the Sun once more during someone’s existence, I’ll reserve special braise for the AEK youth product who gave his side a three [...]

By: Chris Paraskevas | Comments No Comments

In cooperation with Goal.com:
AEK Athens manager Dusan Bajevic will have to deal with seven absences as he prepares his side for a home clash with Thrasyvoulos on Saturday.
A combination of injuries and suspensions might just hand starts to some of the younger members of the squad and perhaps a first appearance of the season for [...]

Matis Lequi insists his prospective move to AEK Athens broke down because he was “disrespected” by the Greek giants.
The Argentine defender flew into Athens to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club but refused to do so after being asked to undergo a trial by manager Dusan Bajevic.
The Serb coach appears to [...]

Last-gasp – and we wouldn’t have it any other way…

By: Chris Paraskevas | Comments No Comments

Three minutes of AEK Athens’ 1-1 draw away against Larissa epitomized what has been a paradoxically bizzare but unsurprising season for the Athenian club…
Within that space of time, a goal of absolute quality by Larissa’s Giorgios Fotakis was responded to by a neat assist-and-finish by Rafik Djebbour, the man who was a major doubt for [...]

It’s all about the football…right?

By: Chris Paraskevas | Comments No Comments

It is perhaps within one of the club’s darkest eras that we can actually begin to look forward to matches with something approaching a sense of anticipation.
Because it’s all about the football…right?
Sure, we might be in debt, without a proper president and without a chance of winning the title this season but the sight of [...]
